Daniel Sayler, 87, of Wishek, passed away December 19, 2021 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 11:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27th from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will take place at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery. Daniel Sayler was born March 13 th , 1934 to Edward J and Christina (Weisser) Sayler on the family farm 16 miles southwest of Wishek. He attended rural country school until 8 th grade. Daniel served in the army from 1953-1955. He was united in marriage to Marlys Meidinger on October 9 th , 1956. They purchased a farm 13 miles west of Wishek and the farm operation included beef and dairy cattle along with grain farming. In 2003 Daniel and Marlys built a home in Wishek where they resided until 2020 when they moved to the Wishek Living Center. They retired from farming in 2005. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Daniel is survived by his wife Marlys, two children and their spouses, Kenneth (Lynn) Sayler, Fargo, ND and Kelly (Mark) Stadum, Marysville, WA; grandchildren Cassandra (Reece) Vega, Moorhead, MN, Dannica (Joe) Sturgeon, Prairie Village, KS, Michael (Christina) Stadum, Santee, CA and Makenna Stadum, Marysville, WA; great-grandchildren Jenna Sturgeon, Lilly Sturgeon, Lucas Stadum and Sienna Stadum; brothers, Herman (Alvina) Sayler, Albert (Betty) Sayler and Victor (Deanne) Sayler; sisters, Edna Wiest and Christine Witt; sisters-in-law, Lillian Sayler and Ella Mae Sayler, and brother-in-law, Leo Hauck.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Christina; brothers; John, Jacob, Reinhold, Edward and Ludwig Sayler; sisters, Irene Just, Clara Thurn, Eva Just, Landina Meidinger and Arlena Hauck; brothers-in-law, Fred Thurn, Herbert Just, Gayhardt Just, Ferdinand Wiest, Dennis Witt and Wilbert Meidinger; sisters-in-law, Irene (Jacob) Sayler and Irene (Ludwig) Sayler.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
