Clifton was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran church, the American Legion Club, Beaver Valley Horse Club, the 75th Jubilee Square Dancers and the Wishek Senior Citizens.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling on bus tours, playing cards and just relaxing at the end of the day.
