The memorial service for Byron West, Napoleon, ND will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Byron was born July 26, 1940, the son of Vernie and Nellie Mathilda (Johnson) West. He grew up and lived most of his life in rural Kintyre. When he was 16, Byron did a brief stint in the Navy before going into the Army where he served honorably for 4 years. On Nov. 19, 1979, he married the love of his life, Carin Palmer, of Bismarck. They moved to the farm in 1981, where they resided for 27 years before moving to Bismarck.

Byron had many adventures throughout his life. From being stationed in Germany while in the Army to being an equipment operator on the Pueblo Dam. He was raised around horses and had broken many throughout the years. Byron also enjoyed riding bulls in his younger years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. After moving to the farm, Byron and his family had raised a multitude of animals ranging from chickens, sheep, donkeys, and horses too.

Throughout his life Byron had various forms of employment. He worked road construction for Northern Improvement, worked at a trailer factory in Oregon, and bartended at the Patterson Place in Bismarck. In Scranton, he worked as a meat cutter for Super Valu, and did construction in North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Montana and Washington.
Byron (Binnie) Othello West went with the Lord on March 23, 2013, at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon. He was 72 years old.

Grateful for sharing his time on earth are his two daughters, Doreen (Mo) West, Bismarck, and Dawnette (Paul) Sylvain, New Hampshire; his two sons, Daniel (Tanya) West, Mandan, and David (Carmella) West, Bismarck; his three sisters, Alice Werre, Kintyre, Marlene (Frank) Kinyon, Kintyre, and Cora Larson, Kintyre; seven grandchildren, and one very special great- grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Meeting him at the gates of heaven are his parents, Vernie and Nellie West; his wife, Carin West; his sister, Anna May Charles; and two sons, Thomas West and Allen West.
