Bertha Schwind, 91, of Wishek ND, passed away December 5, 2021 at the Wishek Living Center. Visitation will be held Friday, December 10 ^th from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM followed by a private family funeral service at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at New Kassel Cemetery.

Bertha was born April 2,1930 in the rural Wishek area to Adam and Kathrina (Weber) Reich. She married Waltmer Schwind on October 10, 1948. They farmed in the rural Zeeland area much of their married life. Bertha and Waltmer had 4 children, Linda (Roger) Boschee, Wishek, Brenda (Richard) Nies, Bismarck, Debra (Larry) Hagel, Bismarck.

She enjoyed listening to polka music and dancing with Waltmer and socializing with her siblings and their spouses. Bertha will be remembered as an adoring wife, mother and grandmother, resourceful enough to both slaughter a chicken and nurturing enough to prepare a loving meal with farm fresh eggs.  No one was ever hungry in her presence. Rarely was she seen without a smile. She was kind and positive and will be missed.

She will be missed by her 3 daughters; 7 grandchildren; Darcie (Greg Stewart) Boschee, Lisa (David) Osborne, Denise (Jeremy) Sollund, Donavan (Tammy) Boschee, Darren Boschee, Valerie Nies, Justin Hagel; 3 great-grand-children, Elijah Sollund, Jack Sollund, Elliot Sollund.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, and all her siblings except Erna Schwind, Jamestown. 1 granddaughter, Carrie Ann Nies; son-in-law, Roger Boschee.
