Obituary

Benjamin Robert Stading, 88, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on September 15, 2026. A private celebration of life will be held in his honor.

Ben was born on February 1, 1938, to Samuel and Blondina Stading on the Danzig farm, 10 miles south of Wishek, North Dakota.

On October 9, 1961, Ben married Linda Lepp in Washburn, North Dakota. Ben once said that was the most memorable day of his life. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and community.

Ben farmed his entire life, retiring after many years of hard work and dedication to the land. He was a lifelong John Deere farmer and was well known for driving Chevrolet LUV pickups for many years.

Ben was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Wishek and a member of the Men’s Brotherhood and served as a Sunday school teacher for a time.

Ben loved playing guitar, playing pinochle, bowling, and having coffee with friends. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the opportunity to spend time visiting with family and friends.

Ben is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Linda Stading; his children, Renee’ (Keral) Aliphios, Darryl (JoDell) Stading, and Kristy (Chad) Benson; and his grandchildren, Paige (Danielle), Dylan, Kellan, Cale, and Crosby Benson, Jaden (Alissa), Jaryn, and Jordan Stading.

He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Stading, Corinne Martin, and Emogene (Vern) Lautt.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Blondina Stading; his brothers, George, Bob, and Reuben; his sisters, Charlotte, Yetta, and Stella; and his infant daughter, Lisa.

Ben will be remembered for his strong faith, love of family, dedication to farming, and the friendships he made throughout his life. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
