The funeral for Arthur Becker, Gardena, CA formerly of Napoleon, ND will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at the Napoleon City Cemetery.

Arthur was born on October 29, 1931 and raised in Napoleon ND, as the 8th child and 5th son of William Becker and Amelia (Retzlaff) Becker till he made his own way out in the world. His life was full of adventure as he worked for many local farmers as a youth, drove a delivery truck, and was part of the construction process in working on the Garrison Dam. Finally, while finding his way to California he found work as a logger in Oregon. In his early years, Mr. Becker worked as a machinist, then after retirement set out to own and operate Berry's Lounge as well as Duffy's Dinner House and Lounge both located in Gardena. He not only took pride in his business, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. He graduated from Gardenia High School in 1985. He met his wife, Shirley Hudson and married on March 19, 1967.

Arthur August Becker, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the Kinder Care Hospital in Gardena CA following a brief illness. He was 80 years old.

He is survived by one son, Arthur William (Bill) Becker, Wofford Heights, CA; four grandchildren, Michael, Eddie, Barbara and Debbie; his close companion, Betty Clark; two brothers, Wally (Lenore) Becker, Napoleon, ND; Roger (Betty) Becker, Bismarck, ND; two sisters, Leona Regner, Valley City, ND; Peona Holsti, Fargo, ND; one brother-in-law, Leon Goebel, Wishek, ND; one sister-in-law, Gwen Becker, Minneapolis, MN; and many close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Walter, William, Roland, Gilbert and John and one sister, Ruth.
