Arthur Eugene (Andy) Anderson of Kulm, ND, was born June 6, 1941, in Monticello, MN., to Art and Mildred (Lundgren) Anderson. Andy passed away April 4, 2023, at Prince of Peace in Ellendale, ND.

Andy's first home was in Hasty, MN. His family relocated after 4th grade. He had a happy childhood; riding his bike, taking the train, enjoying his pets.  The next move was to Kidder, SD, where he completed his elementary and high school education.
Andy completed a bachelor's degree in education from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD, and taught high school sciences in neighboring towns. Andy then made the move to warmer weather and found himself in sunny California where he could ride his motorcycle every day.  In Los Angeles Andy found long term employment with Bethlehem Steel and was trained to work in electronics. Andy lived in a historical old apartment building (the Langham) that has been used in filming many movies. It was a common occurrence to see movie stars hanging around there. Cousin Jim Lundgren lived in the same building. Following the closure of Bethlehem Steel Andy returned to North Dakota to visit his parents, who had by now retired and were living in Kulm. This was not meant to be a long stay, but here he found a new home; a community filled with close relatives, a family, where he formed many close friendships. He became deeply involved in the functioning of the Kulm Baptist Church and the workings of a small town where many hours were spent solving the problems of the world over a cup of coffee and with a napkin used for illustration.

Andy had a brilliant, unharnessed mind which began to dim with the onset of dementia. He was a man of many talents and could find a way to fix most anything. As a hobby he restored and rebuilt many vehicles.

Sadly, dementia overtook his mind and body and he was forced from his home in Kulm and went to live at Prince of Peace in Ellendale, ND, where he received remarkable care for the past 8 years.

Andy is survived by the ever constant in his life; his sister Marlys, of Las Vegas, Nevada, her two sons, Chris and Tim Arnold; six grand nieces and nephews and four great grands.

Andy will be buried near his parents in Swede Cemetery overlooking Diamond Lake. A memorial service will be held at Kulm Baptist church at 11:00 AM on June 6th, (his birthday) with internment to follow, then returning to the church for lunch and a celebration of his life. Please bring a memory to share during lunch.
