Arndt Ketterling, 93, of Wishek, ND, passed away December 13, 2022 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery, Zeeland.

Arndt was born December 8, 1929 near Zeeland, ND, the oldest child to Otto A. and Othelia (Meidinger) Ketterling. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Zeeland. He grew up and attended rural school north of Zeeland. In 1951 Arndt was drafted into the US Army and was honorably discharged 1953 at the rank of Sargent, with one year spent in Germany. He married Frieda Thurn on March 28, 1954 in Ashley. Together they lived near Eureka for six months until moving to a farm north of Zeeland where they farmed and ranched. In 2008 they retired and moved into Wishek. Arndt moved to the Wishek Living Center in 2019 and resided there until his passing

He was a member of the Zeeland American Legion in the past and currently the Wishek American Legion. He also served on the St. Andrews and St. Luke Church Councils and was active with the McIntosh County Soil Conservation.

Arndt is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frieda Ketterling, Wishek, two sons, James (Donna) Ketterling, Pensacola, FL and Glenn Ketterling, Zeeland; three grandchildren, Nicholas Ketterling, Abby (Chris) Ketterling and Andy Ketterling; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Ketterling; one brother, Gerhardt (LaVonne) Ketterling, Wishek; one sister, Sharon (Gary) Bollinger, Cold Spring, MN; sister-in-law, Vangie Ketterling, Wishek and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Othelia Ketterling; two brothers, Walter Ketterling and Earl Ketterling; and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Ketterling (wife of James and the mother of the three grandchildren).
