Annie Marquart daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Weigel) Marquart was born June 27, 1926 at Napoleon, ND. She was the tenth of child in a family of twelve children. She spent her childhood on the family homestead in the Napoleon area. Annie's job was to milk the cows which she hated doing. She attended the small schools in and around the Napoleon area where at times her teacher was her oldest sister. Annie left school when she was sixteen and did not graduate. In later years when her children were grown Annie went back to school and received her G.E.D. diploma of which she was extremely proud. As a young woman, Annie loved singing, dancing and attending as many wedding dances as she could in the small community of Napoleon, ND. One dance had a requirement in order to attend the dance; you had to participate in a town parade. Just so she could attend the dance, Annie grabbed a friends dog, tied a ribbon around the dogs neck and marched in the parade and she was allowed to attend the dance. Annie married Alvin Mueller on February 5, 1945 at Napoleon, ND. They lived Hazelton, ND and had four children before moving to Lodi, California in 1955 where they had their fifth child. Annie work for many years in care centers in Lodi, CA. She loved her job as caretaker and made many lifelong friends with her patients. They remained in Lodi where they raised their children until a few years ago and then moved back to Napoleon, ND. They remained there until Alvin died in 2005 and Annie moved into St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck where she lived until her death.
