Alvina Rohrich, 89, of Linton, ND, passed away September 16, 2021, at the Linton Hospital.  Alvina (Houn) Rohrich was born January 8, 1932 to John and Magdelena (Jacob) Houn at home in rural Emmons County, ND.  She attended country school.  Prior to her marriage she worked at a café and also worked for farmers in the area.

Alvina married Pius Rohrich on October 12, 1953 at St. Michael's Catholic Church.  They farmed northeast of Linton, ND on Pius' parent's farm. They operated a dairy and grain farm with their seven children.  When she wasn't farming she was busy sewing, cooking, baking and enjoying her large garden.

Pius and Alvina moved to Linton in 1984. They traveled together enjoying many trips with friends.  After Pius died in 1987, Alvina became an even stronger independent lady continuing to reside in her home until her passing. She was very sharp with her numbers which ranged from birth dates, anniversaries and farm facts.  Her humor and one-liners will always be a treasured memory.

She enjoyed embroidery, cross stitch, puzzles, plastic canvas, quilts, bingo, and numerous card games – her favorite being pinochle. She spent countless hours making handmade keepsakes for her family, including seven beautiful cross stitch Last Supper pictures for her children, embroidered sets of dishtowels and baby quilts for her children's first child. She will always be remembered for her Sunday soup and spoiling her grand kids with treats.  She loved attending events such as baptisms, weddings, birthdays and activities involving her family and friends.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Larry (special friend Marlene Wagner), Linton, Arlene (Tom Meissel), Bismarck, Alice (Russ Dusek), Stanley, ND, Bernice Keller, Strasburg, Marcie Fliginger (Martin Lussier), Isanti, MN, Mike (special friend Sherry Mollman), Bismarck; daughter-in-law, Patty Bosch; 24 grandchildren, Roberta Haaland (Randy), Andrew Rohrich (Michaela), Kim Ferderer (Matt), Paul Rohrich, Michael Rohrich, Shawn Meissel (Tamara), Brooke Kopp (Jared), Jessica Hoff (Derrick), Matthew Dusek, Becky Wald (Derek), Stacy Kramer (Kollin), Steve Rohrich (Brianna), Corey Rohrich, Michelle VanDenHul (Brian), Missy Schiele (Waylon), Amber Kemmis (Jon), Erin Weiser (Nathan), Darek Keller, Ryan Fliginger, Miranda Kovarik (Jared), Whitney Fliginger, Bryce Rohrich, Dylan Rohrich, Blake Rohrich and 32 great grandchildren; brothers, John and Valentine Houn (Barbara); sisters, Margaret Feist, Rosamary Clark (Dwight) and Angie Feist and sister-in-law, Alice Kramer
