The funeral for Allen Deile, Wishek, ND will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 20, 2015 fro 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. James Lutheran Cemetery rural Wishek, ND.

Allen was born September 24, 1932 to Jacob and Adeline (Boschee) Deile on the rural McIntosh County farm. Allen completed a 6th grade education after which he actively stepped up to Farming responsibilities due to the illness and loss of his Father Jacob. On January 17 1954, he married Werna Wiest of rural Zeeland and continued to farm on his Mother and Father's farmstead 9 miles SW of Wishek, ND. In 1960 they bought an existing Dairy farm 2 ½ miles SW of Wishek. There he farmed and raised his family of 5 children until 1987. He moved into the Wishek City limits and continued to work for area farmers until around 2005. In the decades Allen's farming career spanned, at age 12 and head of household, he had the need for a stool his uncle built to harness their team of horses, (Bud & Grace)…on to operating a fully automated John Deere 9860 STS Combine at its close. Allen was a lifetime resident who was actively involved in his church, community and served on the Wishek Hospital Board in the late 1970's and the Tri-County Fair board for 52 years, where he was inducted to the ND State Fair Board Hall of Fame and awarded a lifetime achievement award just this past summer. He spearheaded the idea to conduct the first Combine demolition derby that caught on as a wide-spread Fair entertainment sensation. He had a deep appreciation and pride for his many horses over the years, his Dairy and his range cattle herds, the Ozark Ranch and his Oliver Tractors. Tractors kept him active as he restored countless old Oliver's until he was no longer physically able. Allen restored an award winning authentic Covered Wagon that initially was used in Wishek's 75th Jubilee Wagon Train/Trail Ride in 1973, later on the National 1776-1976 Bi-Centennial Wagon Train and again on Wishek's 100th Centennial Wagon Train as Wagon Master in 1998. He formed a Pony Express re-enactment for this event that hauled the US Mail from ND Governor Schaefer's Bismarck office, 100 miles by horseback to the Wishek Centennial in just hours.

Allen died December 18, 2015 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. Allen was 83, years old.

He is survived by his wife, Werna, two daughters, Gloria Engel and Cheri (Brad) Brause, sons Glen (Carrie) Deile and David (Kathleen) Deile, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, one brother Stanley ( Blanche) Deile, Wishek, ND, two sisters, Florence Ziegenhagel, Wishek, ND, Elaine Dockter, Wishek, ND. Allen was preceded in death by one son Darold, parents, infant brother Oscar.
