Alice Wiest, 84, of Wishek, ND, passed away February 4, 2022 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9 th at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 8 th from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery. Alice Meidinger was born March 11, 1937 on a farm north of Zeeland to August and Hilda (Just) Meidinger. She was raised on the farm and attended country school in the area until the eighth grade. Upon completion of school she moved to Wishek where she worked various jobs. In July of 1957 Alice met her future husband Julius Wiest. Julius and Alice were married April 15, 1958 at New Kassel Reformed Church. In November of 1958, Julius and Alice bought their family farm 1.5 miles west of Wishek where they began their dairy operation and small grains. They also raised their four wonderful children, Clyde, Karen, Cordell and Mark on the farm. In 1990 Julius and Alice retired from dairy farming. In September of 1999 they sold the family farm and moved to Wishek where she lived until the time of her death. In 1990 Alice started working in housekeeping at the Wishek Living Center until retiring in 2021. She was awarded the Housekeeping award for the state of North Dakota in 2016.

Alice enjoyed baking, especially baking kuchen where she won many of the kuchen baking contests at the Tri County Fair over the years. She also enjoyed canning, tending to her flowers in the summer, decorating her house for all the different holidays, dancing and square dancing, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years she very much enjoyed working on the dairy farm.

She was a member of the Red Hats Society and St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Alice is survived by her four children, Clyde (Gina) Wiest, Wishek, Karen (Jim) Smith, Jamestown, Cordell (Dorinda) Wiest, Menoken and Mark (Kresha) Wiest, Mandan; 11 grandchildren, Josh (Stacy) Wiest, Lacey (Tyler) Eiesman, Timothy and Anthony Smith, Allison (Andrew) Wipf, Austin (Kayla) Wiest, McKenzie Wiest, Dawson (fiancée Taylor Berger) Wiest, Trey, Jaxton, and Jayden Wiest; 7 great-grandchildren Kya, Camden Brendon and Adrian Wiest, Ben and Chase Eiseman and McCoy Wiest; sisters Marlys Sayler, Wishek and Carmen (Curt) Wiedmeier, Bismarck; brothers, Lloyd (Carol) Meidinger, Bismarck and Arnie (Sharon) Meidinger, West Fargo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julius in 2012; brother, Eugene (Elaine) Meidinger; and two infant sisters
