The funeral for Alfred Gross, Napoleon, ND will be Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Dahlstrom Funeral Home and from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.

Alfred Gross, son of Joe A. and Christine (Schwartzenberger) Gross was born June 1, 1931 in Logan County. He grew up and attended rural school. Alfred married Wilma Sperle October 17, 1955 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND. They moved to the family farm 13 miles south of Napoleon where they lived until 1991 when they retired and moved into Napoleon. Alfred was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. After his retirement he helped at the church and enjoyed golfing, spending time with his grandchildren and teasing them. His favorite treats for them were bread and water.

Alfred died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. He was 82 years old.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Wilma, Napoleon, ND; five sons, Timothy Gross, Kintyre, ND; Alfred Gross Jr., Napoleon, ND; Valentine (Paula) Gross, Streeter, ND; Stephen (Lori) Gross, Napoleon, ND and Donald Gross, Napoleon, ND; three daughters, Pamela Gross, Bismarck, ND; Ellene (Raphael) Brendel, Napoleon, ND and Jacqueline (Jason) Binstock, Bismarck, ND; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adam (Elsie) Gross, Butte, MT and Anton (Georgianna) Gross, Bismarck, ND; four sisters, Sister Ellene Gross, Mankato, MN; Eleanor Waelhof, Zeeland, ND; Helen (Ray) Schmidt, Napoleon, ND and Phyllis Babnick, Bismarck, ND; one sister-in-law, Helen Gross, Butte, MT.
