The funeral for Agnes E. Maier, Wishek, ND will be Thursday December 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 8:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.


Agnes Oberlander, daughter of Henry and Lydia (Klein) Oberlander was born February 5, 1930 at Ashley, ND. She grew up and attended rural school in the Ashley area. Agnes was united in marriage to Edwin E. Maier April 3, 1948 at Ashley, ND. They lived in the Wishek area until 1958 when they purchased their farmstead. They lived there until 2003 when they moved into Wishek. Edwin passed away April 5, 2004. After the death of her husband, Agnes found her new calling in life by blessing many of her friends with rides to their appointments. Agnes was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Purple Pals, Wishek Eagles and the Wishek Senior Center. Agnes loved to travel, traveling with her husband, family and friends.


Agnes died Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center at Bismarck, ND. She was 83 years old.

Agnes is survived by one daughter, Linda Held, Des Moines, IA; two sons, Donald (Heather) Maier, San Angelo, TX and Steve (Rose) Maier, Bismarck, ND; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
