Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Heagele will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND with Rosary at 7 PM. Burial will follow at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery.

Agnes Thiele was born March 27, 1917 in Karlsrue, ND to Alphonse and Anna " Makovski" Thiele. She received the Sacraments and her education in Hague, ND and graduated from St. Leo's Catholic School, Minot, ND in 1935. Agnes married her sweetheart, Emmanuel Haegele, February 17, 1941 in a double marriage ceremony with her sister Martha and Joe Goldade at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague, ND. Agnes and Emmanuel were happily married for over 50 years. They made their home in Hague until 1951 when they purchased their farm 14 miles east of Napoleon. They lived on the farm until 1978 when they retired, then making their home in Napoleon. Emmanuel passed away in October of 1992. Agnes continued to live in Napoleon until August of 2005. Since then she has made her home At St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck. Agnes loved and lived her Faith. She was an active member of St. Clare's Catholic Church in Burnstad and of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon. She was a member of the Altar Society and the Christian Mothers and an American Legion Gold Star Mother. Agnes was a CCD teacher for over 40 years. Agnes was also a member of the Beaver Lake Homemakers, an election clerk for the township and the county and on the Napoleon Care Center Board. An avid reader, Agnes also enjoyed playing cards and traveling. She was a wonderful cook and no one ever left her table hungry. A loving and warm person who cared for everyone she met, Agnes was to every child a Grandma and to every person a kind and gracious friend. Great joy for Agnes was being with her family and being near the little ones.


Agnes passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at her home, at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck, ND. She was 94 years old.

Agnes is survived by 2 daughters, Annella Haegel, Bloomington, MN; Barbara (David) Keeling, Litchfield, MN; 5 sons, Tim (Sherry) Haegele, Hosmer, SD; Pat (Diane) Haegel, Clearwater, MN; Joe Haegele, St. Cloud, MN; Paul (Wendy) Haegele, Napoleon, NN, Tom (Rose), Haegele, Windsor, CO; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. 1 sister, Lucy (Tony) Ocel, Lake Wales, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emmanuel; 1 son, David; her parents; 2 brothers, Julius and Joseph, and 3 sisters, Martha, Marie, and Clara.
