The funeral for Arron Dewald, Wishek, ND will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Zion United Methodist Church at Lehr, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr, ND.

Arron Verner Dewald, son of Alfred Sr. and Irene (Wutzke) Dewald was born January 21, 1948 at Streeter, ND. He was the youngest of a set of twins. Arron attended elementary school at Streeter, ND. His parents eventually purchased a farm 12 miles north of Lehr, ND in 1960. Arron graduated from Lehr Public school in 1966. Arron married Bonnie Finck on September 15, 1966. Their first residence was at McKienze, ND where Arron worked as a farm hand and Bonnie became a housewife. They moved to the farm of Stanley Meidinger at rural Fredonia, ND in 1968 to continue his work as a farm hand. In 1972 they moved to the farm of Alfred Sr. They eventually spent some time living in Lehr, ND and operating a bar in Wishek, ND called the 4D's Lounge until they moved back to the family farm in 1980. They resided and operated a dairy, cattle and crop farm until February of 1996 when a fire destroyed their family farm house. Arron and Bonnie then moved to Lehr where Bonnie started to work at the Wishek Retirement Home and Arron continued to farm. In 2006, they moved to Wishek. Arron was a member of the National Guard from August 6, 1965 to August 6, 1971. Arron enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He talked to them daily to make sure everyone was getting to work/school/activities and having a good meal each night. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and gambling. He was excited to fish all the lakes in the area. He received a great joy out of farming. He looked forward to each harvest season so he could drive his semi to and from the elevator.

Arron passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at his home under the care of Prairie View Hospice of Wishek, ND. He was 63 years old.


Arron is survived by his wife, Bonnie, Wishek, ND; one daughter, Stacy (Bruce) Glass, Otsego, MN; one son, Tarin (Jill) Dewald, Jamestown, ND; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Glass, Zakary Glass and Emily Glass; Kyra Dewald and Bryton Dewald; four brothers, Alfred Jr. (Cheryl) Dewald, Fargo, ND; Anthony Dewald, Lehr, ND; Arlo (Lisa) Dewald, Battleground, WA; Adrian (Mary Ann) Dewald, Wishek, ND; three sisters, Norma (Bruce) Smith, Wishek, ND; Verna (Lee) Metzger, Fargo, ND; Myra (Steve) Gregory, Belfield, ND.
